In 2004 we introduced the new LEMAG Shaftpower system, which is a permanently installed torque measuring device that calculates the actual power output of the ship's propulsion engine.

The measured data is displayed on the self-explanatory touch-screen panel in "real-time" and the comparison of the actual data with the pre-set "propeller curve" provides the operator with a tool to help avoid overloading the engine.

The shaft power measuring system can extended to measure fuel consumption and can help the crew optimize cruising speed and trim. The LEMAG Shaftpower operates absolutely contact free and without the use of strain gauges. This way a quick and easy installation and a long lifetime without any attendence of a service engineer is possible. The zero-calibration can easily be done by the crew whenever the engine is stopped.

Scope of supply - Permanent power measuring system

LEMAG Shaftpower® is the ultimate system for measuring the actual output of an engine. The measured data is permanently displayed and can be compared with the original propeller curve (load diagram). Optional components provide the user with permanent access to other important performance data e.g. specific fuel oil consumption.

Four analogue outputs (0..5V)
Four alarm outputs (digital, potential-free)
Pre-mounted for easy installation
Maximum shaft rotating speed: 200RPM

Optional equipment:
• Analogue outputs with current signal (4 .. 20mA)
• Additional display, e.g. for installation on the bridge
• “Blackbox” data recorder
