Induction heat treatment

Induction Heat Treatment is a very fast and extremely precise method for heating of metal compositions. Temperature increase speed can be controlled accurately and in contrast to traditional heat treatment technologies (heat belts, gas/open flame), the heat is generated inside the metal - not just at the surface, but in-depth

The technology is highly suitable for:

  • Annealing (stress relieving heat treatment)
  • Hardening (surface as well as in-depth)
  • Controlled temperature increase / decrease
  • Pre-heating and temperature stabilisation for certificate welding
  • Shrink-fitting and dis-assembly of shrink fitted components

And it can be used for

  • Heat-treatment of crank- and camshafts
  • Heat-treatment of valve seats and piston crowns
  • Heat-treatment of new and  damaged components for certificate welding
  • Surface hardening / in-depth hardning
  • Dis-/reassembly of e.g. camshaft parts 

Advantages include: 

  • Accurate in-depth temperature control (+/- 3°C for small and large items) controlled by touch-panel PLC
  • Multiple point temperature monitoring using thermocouples
  • Much faster than traditional solutions due to high and effective in-depth energy transfer (up to 40 kW effect), without unnecessary stressing of the material.
  • In-depth heat transfer eliminates the formation of micro-cracks, even at steep temperature profiles
  • Possible to follow pre-programmed heating / cool-down curves
  • No surface damages due to excessive heat treatment, unlike the use traditional methods like heat belts or gas
  • Possible to work on heated item while equipment maintains temperature / follows temperature profile.
  • No unnecessary heat loss to surroundings means better working environment
  • Maintain temperature during welding/machining/other processing of heated item
  • Document that the heat treatment process conforms with standards and norms
  • No need for manual monitoring of heat process - use personnel for other tasks during heat treatment
  • Fixed or ultra-flexible coils - up to 45 m of coil possible
